WHO WE ARE

Nicole: Former high school teacher of English & Latin for six years; grad student of philosophy for 3 yrs--2002-2005, MA in Anthropology & Grad Certificate in Women's Studies from the Univ. of South Carolina, Class of 2006; university Philosophy Instructor, starting January 2008. Extensive experience with most kinds of animals, while specializing in dogs & dog behavior issues, companion parrots, & reptiles. Specialized experience in parrot handling & discipline techniques. "I have spent my entire life--well over thirty years--living with & caring for companion animals. My earliest childhood memories are times spent with my three collie dogs. We had one tri-color collie (black, mahogany, & white) & two sable collies (Lassie colored). They were my constant companions throughout childhood. We also had cockatiels, mynah birds, & ferrets--even a rescue skunk we named Flower! Had I been a bit less tenderhearted, I would have become a veterinarian. Between Cindy & me, we have an unusually broad knowledge of & experience with many kinds of animals. PetSitting offers me a wonderful opportunity to do what I love for many more animals than I could ever keep in my home!"

Cindy: Former Administrative Ast & Attendance Clerk for Barnwell Co Career Ctr 2000-2004; Associates of Science in Computers and Information Technology from Denmark Technical College, Class of 2001; Health & Beauty Clerk @ Publix 2005-present. "I have been caring for & raising animals for almost 30 years--since the age of 7. That experience even gave me the opportunity to be trained to administer medications of all kinds to many different animal species. I have raised cockatiels, bantam & game chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, goats, hogs, horses, & pedigreed dogs. I ran my own business, C&C Farms, for 6 years, until I moved to Columbia. After getting to know Nicole & learning that she wanted to expand Watchful Owl PetSitters, I decided to explore PetSitting. I was instantly hooked! So, Nicole & I started working Watchful Owl together in 2004, and we haven't looked back since! "
